The Department of Engineering Design from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (Chile) is seeking one outstanding individual for a faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on the qualifications of the candidates (Position Code SJ24-09).
This position is for our Campus in the city of Santiago (Campus San Joaquin).

What do we search for:
Candidates with research evidence in one of the following areas:

  • Smart product-service systems: Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, Robotics for Healthcare & Education.
  • Innovation for Sustainable Development: Circular Innovation & policies, sustainable material design, innovation methods for sustainable innovation
  • Human-Centered Design: HCI, UX/UI research, Universal & Inclusive Design, User-Centered methods.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Design, Engineering or a closely related discipline. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate level courses in the Product Design Engineering 5 year-program. They will also be expected to establish a   strong externally-funded research program, and foster existing or new collaborations with other departments and faculties in Chile and internationally. Evidence of teaching experience is desirable. Proficiency in spanish is desired, but not required, although it is expected   that the successful candidate to be proficient within a two year period.

  • Copy of five relevant publications.
